I do feel sorry for "real asylum seekers" but even then the rules governing the safety of those asylum seekers state that they should seek safety in the closest country from the country they are escaping from.
So in reality we should not have any asylum seekers in Great Britain, in which case we as a nation should then offer the "Freedom Nation" a helping hand by offering placement for some of those asylum seekers and some kind of financial help for the "Freedom Nation" to accommodate those seeking asylum.

Sandra51, I agree with what you are saying but we must also acknowledge those migrants who were invited and have added to and helped our Nation but have suffered for who they are. Many will automatically assume that means the Black and Asian migrants who came here when requested, but it also applies to many who moved within the United Kingdom. Scots, Irish and Welsh tradesmen and workers moved to England and suffered racism (and no doubt English people who moved to Scotland, Ireland and Wales also suffered exactly the same). My family moved from Scotland to England in the late 1950's when many English Companies pleaded for workers, especially experienced Tradesmen to move to fill the vacancies.
The notices on many pub doors back then were "No Blacks, Irish, Jocks or Dogs". I quickly learned to speak in a Local English accent so that I didn't get set upon, many Blacks and Asians also done the same but their colour obviously set them aside hence why many people seem to assume racism is only about skin colour.
Unfortunately there are now far too many White, Black, Asian and any other skin shades in between who only see Britain as an easy touch and cushy place to claim what is available to them which in many cases is more difficult for the indigenous population to receive what they are rightly entitled to.
We need to look after "our own" (which must include 2nd, 3rd and more generation migrants) first

I had to laugh at Rishi saying that he will make the legal immigrants pay more for their visas and for healthcare in order to fund the pay increases that he announced for the public sector workers.

For some reason he forgot to mention that all the illegal economic migrants coming across the channel in the small boats will of course still continue to get completely free and the highest quality healthcare in the country, regardless of cost, including dental, much quicker than any of us whose taxes and NI over the years will be able to get it, and they will continue to get free 4 star hotel accomodation, meals, iphones and spending money for as long as it takes before they are given the right to remain and then get a free house so that they can bring their relatives over. Then once they have got their British passport they will of course be free to go back home to visit friends and other relatives, in those countries that they claim to be fleeing from in fear of their lives, for more holidays abroad than most UK taxpayers could afford.

The part that kills me is, over 60% are Albanians, Albania is classed as a safe country they are not asylum seekers running from persecution they are illegal migrants who illegally gained entry to the country so let's get that bit straight.

As for those who travel across the med to Italy Greece etc. Yes some are travelling war torn countries and are looking for a safe place.

So once they land they are away from their life threatening situation but oh no that isn't enough because they have read and are told that their best bet is to trek a 1200miles+ and head for UK crossing safe country after safe country then a final dangerous boat ride (that isn't free by the way) to get to our shores and be looked after for free.

What's worse, the Albanians that arrive are 85% young males and a large number are criminals escaping jail or they are sent and paid for by organised Albanian criminal gangs sent to addresses were there'll be a mattress on a floor and a grow farm to look after.

They aren't helping in any way at all though are they and they keep voting against anything that would help fix the problem which, along with a few Tory Mps like the idiot Mitchell, who wants us to increase foreign aid instead of only using it for unforeseen natural disasters, and the courts and the crooked immigration lawyers, who a few of the probably hundreds or thousands of them were exposed last week, are doing their best to stop anyone from ever being deported.

The best that Starmer and his band of miserable men and women can come up with to stop the boats is to catch the people smugglers in France, without realising that Macron will never allow any Brits to go to France to do that, just as he will not allow us to take the illegal economic migrants back to France once any of our boats have picked them up mid channel, as that would mean they would become France's problem and not ours.
