3d Tv Converters are they any good?

Hi been thinking of getting a 3d tv for a while now but kinda grudge paying a grand and a half after just getting a 50" lcd 6 months ago found this Amazon.com: VirtualFX 2D to 3D Television and Game Console Converter: Electronics on amazon as wonderd if any members on here have tried them and what they thought of them.

seems like mixed results from the amazon reviews. It looks like there is at least one fake review on there that states that it works with a rear projector when clearly states it only works with the CRT type tube tvs, the seemingly genuine reviews are not so keen. Buyer beware

didnt realise they werent suited for lcd tvs thats a bummer but was thinking of maybe getting a 3d projector if anyone on here has tried them and could tell me what there experiences were.

Doesnt the 3d system have to be in the same format as the movies are encoded in. I thought that movies were not in stereoscopic format.

I dunno I may be wrong.
