360 ck3/xtractor alternative.

ck3/xtractor alternative Link

Came across this earlier, looks very cool.

Comes with a probe of its own included, looks like a great alternative to maximus rip off and CK3 faulty kits.

From Ebay page:

Don't deal with an out-of-country mega seller with limited contact info - deal with a proven, small-time E-Bay seller who's got the time to provide you with support! You are bidding on a KeyGrabber - identical functionality when compared to competitor's products. This board has literally hundreds of uses.

The circuit board doubles as a "USB to TTL voltage converter" for Lite-on extraction, as well as a "PC to XBOX 360 DVD drive connectivity board" for powering up any original XBOX 360 DVD-drive in your PC. The bundled kit includes a lot of extra goodies. This combo board is USB compatible and includes all the cables you need to get going. The included cables have plenty of length to work with. The included chisel tip spring probe helps you make and keep a good connection without damaging your drive's circuit board. Each connectivity board is INDIVIDUALLY tested before shipment! We are shipping from Seattle, WA via USPS priority shipping to all 50 states. We ship any orders received by 4:00PM (Pacific Time) the same day.

Your winning bid on this Buy-It-Now auction includes the following kit:

* Fully tested connectivity combo board, shipped in safe anti-static bag
* Industrial quality chisel tip spring probe, 36" cable (i.e. probe, spear)
* USB to mini-USB cable, 60" cable
* SATA data cable, 40" cable
* Drivers, software and tutorials on CD-ROM!
* UNLIMITED FREE TECHNICAL SUPPORT!
* USPS 2-3 Day Priority Shipping

This connectivity kit is compatible with the following XBOX 360 drives:

* Lite-on*
* BenQ

* Hitachi

*Compatible with any SATA card - no VIA card required

Functions of the the combo board include:

* DVD drive power on / power off switch
* DVD drive tray eject / close switch
* DVD drive ModeB enable / disable switch (for older Hitachi drives)
* DVD power LED indicator (green) glows when XBOX 360 drive is powered up
* USB power LED indicator (green) glows when USB/probe interface is powered up
* Board has both TX (transmit) AND RX (receive) probe hook-ups available

dont remember CK3 kits being faulty? i remember the software sucked on it thats about it lol...

anyways, english you would be surprised...

its still 40 quid though, my bro in law paid less for his WORKING CK3 with probe, so not really cheaper?

pro + probe is about £35 including shipping to UK only takes a few days

unsure but i think the maximus is even cheaper

and if u want to go cheaper you can make yourown on a breadboard

From T-X own forum, no TX staff has replied in this thread:

When I was about to read something from a LiteOn the CK3 burned. Just like it burned before (sparks and smoke - god knows how fast I've removed the power from my PC)

How:
- Turned the PC on
- On windows, turned the CK3 on WITHOUT the USB.
- Turned the CK3 off.
- Connected the USB.
- Turned the CK3 on. BURNED! Instantly after I've turned it on.

I've managed to flash around 12 Xbox360 before with the CK3 and around 80 before without one.

Now what Team Xecuter?

1st try, 1st track burned.

2nd try, same "track" burned.

Maximus is 43 pounds and $14 shipping.

So no its defo not cheaper.

And although your brother in law may not of had a problem there is problems with ck3s.

And we are all quite aware that you can get a ck3 and probe, pointing out a new alternative cant do any harm.

how werried is that mine burnt same track bridged it with solder and it works fine
wonder if there is a problem
with mine i hocked up a hitachi drive and it burnt

Heres the thread:

[HELP] Connectivity kit set on fire - Team Xecuter

Also:-

[ 2009/01/09 - 08:01:03 ] <Iriez> my ck3 bricked my 3rd liteon
[ 2009/01/09 - 08:01:11 ] <Iriez> as it went up in a cloud of smoke
[ 2009/01/09 - 08:01:17 ] <Iriez> and NO it was not plugged in backwards

If it can happen to a master 360 hacker, it could happen to any of us.

its weird how it would burn on the start of the curcuit, i had that problem(burnt track) when i put the molex in the wrong way around on my xeno once, there must be a manufacturing problem with them and the curcuit is the wrong way around for it to burn like that surely...

thats iriez though things like that happen to him lol

btw dont throw around the word "master 360 hacker" Iriez doesnt deserve pun like that, sounds a bit lame imo

feck mates just got ont of them from .shopneo do you think he should ask for the dollar back before using??

Its hard to know weather its a bad batch or a defect in all.

Should be fine tbh.

Id test it with no drive attached 1st.

My fault was easy to spot.

Plugged it in, it lit up,but switch was off.

i have the exact same one, its done a sammy, a liteon and a benq (numerous times for testing). it's sound m8 could be just the luck of the draw or as Cisk says a bad batch
