At the moment I have a DM800 running DBUK image with cccam. I want to connect my other dish pointing to 39E using the diseqc switch. Can I run mgcamd as wel, and how do I configure it so certain channels only use mgcamd as softcam.

By no means an expert but you can only have cccam or mgcamd running but mgcamd can be configured to provide cccam services.
