Win7 by any chance? :)

Drop down to DOS (CMD) and enter....

format <drive letter>: /FS:FAT32

What makes you think DOS is slow, give me DOS any day.

Not a chance, it formatted my 1TB drive in about 20 minutes.

A wee 320 drive will be much less, and there is always the /Q flag if you are in a hurry.

Would partition wizard on hirens boot disc not do it?

what size are you trying to convert to fat32? max file size is 32GB so its not going to work unless you partitions the space into sections of 32GB

is that not right ?

well 15 mins in i am at 10% :-(

You didn't tell it to use Quick Format.

That's what the /Q flag is.

@ Rodbouy 32Gb????

Aye, back in 1980 with FAT12 or some other ancient File system :)

Fat32 supports 8TB drives in 32bit clusters or is it 64bit clusters? :err:

File systems are independant of OS restrictions.

You Wii or Media Player is not limited to the same retraints as Windows.

Use this and you can format a fat32 partition to any size.

I had my hdd in 32gb lumps for my media player but it's only windows that limits size - this prog sorts that.
