Upgrading vu+solo2 clone to accept genuine untouched images

Hi

I have a VU+Solo2 clone (lonrisun). In flash memory I have installed a "safe image" OpenATV 5.3 (v4)

Can I use a original image like OpenATV 5.3 only on pendrive (usb - multiboot)?

Someone on other forum told me that if I have a safe image in flash, I can install original image on pendrive (multiboot) - is it true?

Yes you can run any image you like on pen as it use the driver from the image in the flash.

The problem you have is the image have to match the kernel of the flash image so as the v4 images have a old kernel none of the newer images will work correctly via multiboot anyway.

I took risk and flashed genuine image openspa 6 on my Sunray solo2 ...It refuses to boot, UNTIL I replaced the with SUNRAY drivers..The box was Not bricked ! Does this mean anything about the box ???

No. To the best of my knowledge, I've never heard of a sunray solo2 bricking with original image. Normally they just refuse to boot. The recent sunray solo2 before they were taken off market could accept original images.

However I have read drivers from lonrison clone images brick sunray boxes
