I had the same problem as this, couldn,t work it out as the same flash was working on another card, re-wrote all files on the card but still no good and coming up with card not inserted properly. Copied flash and ext eep to another atmega card and bingo it all worked fine. Maybe the card is kapput ? but was working fine before.

thanks for that m8, i will try another card if i can find one, but i think i have only got
funcards left and can't programme them because i am using a laptop with only usb connections, but i will try anyway. thanks.

sorry, you can do a funcardwith just the usb cable, i had a memory laps,
not done a funcard for a long time but all working now.

I had this smartcard not inserted prob and it did my head in for days. What I found tonight is that the shani hex file that I had starts with :020000020000FC. Dodgy download?? I checked a previous flash file and it didn't have this so I deleted that line and rewrote the card and all ok.

Hope that this helps???

I have just had this on my 4001 box with Funcard, says not inserted ? In pure as well.

Checked s/w version and on 3_6_11 ????

Will try the shani file now.

Just put shani in the flash and usual ext. Rebooted box and still get 'card not inserted'

Any ideas, seems simple enough all it is is a new flash file ?

Cheers

I tried it 20 times with different cards and it was the flash that was the prob not the eeprom. removing the line :020000020000FC worked for me.

not sure why it doesnt work for u m8.

Heres one guys.... i got my sammy to update the fun card. Have just tried to do my old mans who has a 4010 box. The box wen through it paces and now everytime i flick to a channel that it scrambeled it says that i am not subscribed to this channel. Have also had the card in there for about 20 mins.

Is there somthing else id need to try. Have asked my dad to try again. But this time turn the box off and leave the card out. And then put the card back in once the box has booted up. Will report back if it works. Otherwise has anyone come across this?

update - That was quick... It seemed to do the trick.

1. took out the card
2. power cycled the box (4010)
3. waited for image to come up
4. Inserted card.
5. Wooohooo updated.

Thanks guys.

I hope this helps as I have just done 3 x fun an 1 x Atmega.

Read cards and saved ext eeprom as a hex file, converted to bin file using swapbinhex. Changed extension from bin to bn11 and opened in Nagraedit 4.1 to check that Cam ID was filled and tier expiry and rights dates were well in advance. Saved file and changed extension back to bin. Loaded bin file into ext eeprom using Pheonix Unlimited along with 3.7 hex file for flash. Erased card and then did a write to card.

All updated within 2 minutes.

From what I have read, make sure you have CAM ID filled in and that you erase the card before writing to it then it should work whether you are using Nagraedit or Toxic.

Thats all well but all you needed to do was load latest flash and write over the old one.
Its not like your making a new card with new image and new flash.
This is where most are going wrong.
Just do the flash if the card was working before.

Just saying how I did it and it worked.

A lot of ppl here seem to be having trouble getting it to work. It fails for lots so there must be a problem somewhere. I was just suggesting what to do if you are having problems.

If your old file does not have CAM ID then ppl here say it will not work. So it is not just a matter of writing back you old ext eeprom file.

Some people are having problems and its mainly down to doing it wrong in the first place and rushing into it without having a proper search.
Ive helped a few out of late but thats mainly down to being rusty.
People are panicking and making new cards when all they need to do is load the latest 3.7 fixes either for funs or atmegas and just write the flash.
All this talk of rebooting and putting on bbc1 is rubbish. If its done right it will update, simple.
Hopefully others will try and follow the whole thread to sort out their 3.7 fix.

I agree with that. Going to bbc1, rebooting, is a load of rubbish and the best thing, as you say, is to just write the new flash. If that does not work then you have to look at CAM ID and finally the dates you have on your image. I was not suggesting you make a new image, but modifying your existing image so that it works.

The point im trying to make is this thread is a 3.7 pure fix thread, not how to make a fun card.
99% of people following this thread had working tv till the 3.7 update.
Nothing wrong with their images, dates or cam ids.Just the flash.
Sorry for any misunderstanding in my earlier posts.
Im certain most welcome the feedback and advice.
