trying to use the updater to goto 4.0e

hi im trying to use waninkoko's updater im basically right at the begining is it supossed to take ages to install IOS249 rev.8 so far im at

the musics stoped which i know it probably does but it does seem to be taking a while, cheers.

Edit: bollocks as ive pressed submit thread it seriously moved and now its installed. sorry about that just for the sake of it, it took about 10 mins in total (incase anyone else thinks the same) cheers.

Where do you get the updater from mate ?

An can it be done off line ? as my Wireless is fecked at the moment

here you go mate as far as i know it cant be done offline though i might aswell post it all the same im installing it now and its taking ages the part im doing is supposed to take 20-30mins but its been going at least a hour. i have put the tut in the zip copied and pasted to a txt file.

while ive been waiting for this to upload ive had to start again is it your network thats knakerd mate or nintys because i have had no probs with xbox or the pc today but the wii is taking the mick.
edit: it dosent look all bad i think the downloading as carried on from where it stoped.

i forgot to post back i eventually managed to update and everything is working as 3.2e just in case anyone else gets the same problems -
i had to reinstall cios_rev10 to get usb support back for the loaders after update also during the process i got a semi brick because installed preloader 0.29 before i installed ios 60 at the end of the tut but all i did was reinstall preloader and that sorted it. it took ages to download using the files posted whilst updating and some i had to run again but it got sorted in the end ive freed up alot of space copying all my vc games from wii to sd too tbh thats the only thing ive noticed different by updating to 4.0e i may even play a game on it soon its been loads in the last couple of month but probably had 1/2 hr game play tops lol.

edit: i thought you couldnt boot backups through the wii game channel after updating to 4.0e or have i got that wrong? it seems to be working ok.

update last night and all was good.

Yeah you can load backups through the game channel but you have to

1.Install the CIOSCORP WADs

2.Install CIOS60BF.wad

3.Your system menu will now say "System Files Corrupt" but dont worry! just hold reset and launch the Homebrew Channel and install Preloader 0.29 AGAIN

4. Enable update blocker in preloader. Hold RESET and power on. Change preloader options and hacks

Used the updater and I now have a 4.0e system with USB loader working without a hitch, the only problem is that I can't load games from the SD card. Whenever I click the sd card button it goes to the loading sd card screen but the system crashes. Any ideas chaps?

have you got bannerbomb on that card by any chance mate?

No, just the apps, private and wad folder.

it will be something on your card doing that mate im not sure what on mine it was bannerbomb you could try another sd or back up and format that one to rule out any wii probs

Looks like it was the card after all, I formatted it and now everthing's working fine, thanks for your help.
