Life without the internet?

Last Saturday my broadband went down and I only got a new router from my isp today. It has been absolute HELL! especially with the kids off. I never realised just how much my life revolved around access to the internet.

So I pose a question...

It's not impossible, but the only way to survive without the internet nowadays is have all those services which are not purely, or more freely available online go back to their old methods.

Internet access is no longer just a social or entertainment platform, its inherent to the way we live, the way we conduct business and how we manage our time, whether it be online shopping or some other activity that you would ordinarily go out to do. It's also changed the way we manage our money, paying bills, or doing your taxes.

When was the last time you regularly went to blockbuster to rent a video, or browsed (in the shop) rather than online beforehand. The internet has replaced some of the things we do or did regularly. When did you last hand write a letter? It's changed friendships, how they are achieved and how we keep in touch. Watching TV has not become increasingly through web based mediums.

I don't think its possible for the world to be without the internet now! When you've never had such things you can live your live without any problems. But once you have that something i.e. Internet, it would be very difficult to live your everyday life.
