It is highly recommended (but not essential) to use some form of USB storage in the rear socket if internal drive is fitted

All of the usual DW modifications
all of the latest EPG file versions
EPG importer modified to use rear USB as default (if installed)
New Web interface (still issues with streaming live, but streaming recordings is perfect)

Still based on the UR SVN rev # 463 (4/4/11) but some minor functionality updates

The best way to update to this image is via USB and the MINIROOT method, otherwise some random code from previous images may be left behind and cause skin issues

At least one of the "bold requests" is sort of fixed. When we enter a menu, the screen size is reduced. However, is there any way to change channels in the small screen? Pressing OK changes channel and reverts to full screen.

On a downside, the stop button does not work when recording. (Internal SATA, so can't complain too much. It was okay before.)

I pressed EPG and Menu and video screen size didnt reduce... what skin are you using~?

Slight hiccup/correction. The video size does not change, just the window size. In effect you see only a part of a picture as opposed to the previous transparent setup. Even just pressing OK on the remote makes the video window size reduce.

I'm using the skin that came with the image, Kerni-HD 1 R2.

I did do the official thing of factory reset before flashing (did both types) and the switch off for a minute after flashing though!

sorry to sound thick but how do you stream with vlc player ?

Download VLC player if you dont already have it.

Open web browser and input ip address of Technomate
Click Movies
Click Computer Icon next to desired program, and choose open with VLC.exe

Thats it

PS as yet live TV streaming will not work (which is a shame)

Open inrternet explorer and in the address bar type the IP address of you TM

You should then see the TM web interface

When i built this image, i left out a folder containing all of the scripts after putting in the default (backup) DW customiser ppanel.

This was put in place, in case the DW live updater failed, and erased itself without installing the ppanel, but, the ppanel that is in place, has no script to call on to download the update.

Use the DW live customiser, then restart ppanels, and itll erase the updater youre using, as well as the default panel thats there, and replace them both with the latest version of DW customiser ppanel

this 'oversight' is now fixed ready for the next release

installed from miniroot via usb, got as far as digitalworldz (used to be technomate) but just stayed there.
Put on an image I had done which booted 1st time.

full factory reset, flash from miniroot via usb booted to the new skin.
when i rebooted the box it reverted to brushed ali so reset and deleted brushed ali for the box.

Love the new skin, it will be the new default for me.

I hope i'm not going to have to factory reset everytime I put on a test image, this is something that ur will need to address.

Any news on when the cvs will be updated as it's been at 463 for ages now.

I am so glad that you posted this m8.

This image contains the graphics data for the brushed ali skin, in the usual place, but that is all it contains, there is no other reference to the skin. By this happening to you, it proves something i have been trying to explain, that during the flash erasing, not everything is erased, things get backed up first and restored after, one file looks to be the skin.py script, as your existing one will be defaulted to brushed ali, but, it should be erased and replaced with the new one during flashing.

I put the brushed ali data into this image in the hope that someone would post saying that the skin was the same after flashing

i check the svn at least 4 times a day, i used to check it every 15 mins, the latest promised update is already 10 days overdue

Do you power down the receiver after flashing? i wait for it to say REBOOT then it resets itself, i then kill the power for 30 seconds at the back before firing back up
