iPhone Download AutoSHSH by iH8Sn0w to Grab SHSH blobs for 3.1.3 and iPad 3.2

Apple iPad is released recently and we have already seen the Jailbreaks coming up with few initial iPad Jailbreaking videos and Images. We have already covered about Jailbreakers Gaining Full Root Code Execution on iPad and Geohot’s Decrypt Keys for 3.2 iPad Firmware. This shows that an iPad Jailbreak Tool will soon be released and if you want to downgrade restore your iPad to previous Firmware then it would be better to save your SHSH. To make your life easy iH8Sn0w released a handy tool called AutoSHSH.

For those of you who do not know about iH8Sn0w, he is the one behind Sn0wBreeze and F0recast tools. AutoSHSH Grabber is a simple tool which allows you to save your SHSH file with just one click. The main reason for you to save your SHSH files is that Apple has added a new security system called ECID for all its devices. So if you update your iPhone 3GS, iPod Touch 3G, iPod Touch 2G MC or iPad to latest firmware without saving the SHSH on file then you will not only loose your Jailbreak but also will not be able to downgrade to the older firmware. But luckily if you have your ECID SHSH saved for an older firmware, you will be able to restore back to that firmware and then Jailbreak your device.

must of been my pc for some reason just wouldnt run it did it on my mates laptop and saved my shsh.thanx for the suggestions though got there in the end lol...do i just follow the new ra1ncast guide now and click on the 3.1.3 bit...is there anychance i can bugger my phone up if do it wrong as only just brought it ...lol

Is there nay need for me to use this shsh program for in the future or is it only for the people with newer iphone and pads.

I think I see what Janobi means, if Spirit jailbreaks 3.1.3 firmware we would only need to ever go back to 3.1.3 is that right ? I'm currently on 3.1.2 with a tethered jailbreak, would I have to restore so not jailbroken to use spirit to jailbreak again ? in which case would I lose all my apps ?

it is incase you accidentely upgrade to a newer firmware,if you have your shsh you can dwongrade again,without it you cant,unsure about 3.1.2 though

1st with your apps mate just snyc and backup with itunes , then what i do to save them once there in my itunes library just right click on any of your apps and choose option open up using windows explorer , then you can just copy and paste all your apps to your desktop.
the shsh just allows you to back up in case your iphone knackers up, so is always best to keep it and back up, so say i upgraded to fw 4.0 and i had a problem or i didnt like it , i can downgrade stright back down to 3.1.2

If you connect to cydia it should say that it has 3.1.2 shsh blobs on the server for you. That is if you jb it previous paul.

hi mate after reading up on this i got this

iPhone 3G - doesnt have ecid.shsh.
to downgrade/restore (dfu mode - shift + restore with 3.1.2 firmware)
its as simple as that 4 3G iphones
if you need to unlock you might have problems with the baseband (if you updated it with 3.1.3) and if you dont have the old bootloader to downgrade it.
but if your an offical carrier like AT&T/Fido/Rogers then your good to go

Oh yeah one last thing i forgot
if your restoring/downgrading with a custom firmware
you'll encounter a 1600 error on itunes
use iREB from iH8SNOW to bypass this

one of the main reasons for saving your shsh is things always change.

spirit may not always work as it is a different kind of jailbreak and to be able to use any or all of the different jailbreaks keeps you ahead of the rest.

its like having lots of backup of your hard drive if you mess things up you can go back and install an older version of your hard drive that works.

this is the same, if apple update firmware or stop a unlock or jb from working or you update by mistake, you can go back install old firmware and your back up and running.

if like a lot of people that updated firmware to 3.1.3 they lost the unlock, and jailbreak had to wait for a new hack and wait along time.

To be safe never update via itunes, wait a few days and see what happens, you really don't want to loose your jailbreak and unlock do you?
