Hi Guys,

Is it worth saving a few pounds and buying a clone of the Dreambox 800 HD or stick to a original box?

Im aware of the phisical inside differences but what about actual usability between the two?

Also, is there a cheap supplier for one box around the UK?

If you buy an oroiginal dm800 then you can install whatever image you like now and in the future but it will probably cost you twice as much for the previlege compared to the clone.
 
I don't own a clone DM800.

......but some of the clone DM500 and 600's are superb.

If I were you, I'd find ask around for a supplier of reliable clone 800's and go from their.
 
But thats my point, I dont know where to look for a quality box.

If I can find a cheap original 800 I would get one, well cheapest as possible.

Also, once the Dreambox is patched so to speak, what can it open or is it only good for CS?
 
I too have this dilemma. Wait for the dm500HD (how long's a piece of string) ??? Or buy a clone dm800 or original dm800!?!??!?!

I want to use whichever box I get for sharing my sly card with friends etc... any ideas which I should go for?

Do a search for Satstore, he supplies original dreamboxes and he also sells
the dm800. Buy a original, you,ll have less hassle later on. You have only
got to look on the forum to see all the problems folk are having with the
clones, and i bet by the time they send them back and start adding other
bits to them, they,ve spent as much as what a original would of cost in the
first place.

You might just be right there mate. Ive read so many storeis of dreambox dm800 clones with problems! I just dont know what to do! Gamble with a clone or buy an original and be set! But im worried that if I buy an original then the dm500hd will come out for £100 less!
 
Does anyone know what the likly price of the dm500hd are?

Whats the differance between the 800HD and this 500HD?

DM500HD expected to be £299. Not much difference except the dm500 has a faster processor, but the dm800 is also a PVR I think thats the only differences!

Well I jumped in and grabbed a Dreambox 800HD from Dsatv.com for £156.14 with delivery.

tried to search for the dm800 clone on that website but all I got was.........

Not Found
