In this day of equalty & pc...(started well) I feel i'm being predudissed against because I can't spell, count, write or spoke rite...and this forum promotes members because of their ability to answer a question like ( eg well done m8 etc...) ie any response gets a tick...

Anyway what's the protocol so I know who I'm answering...

There are plenty of people here who aren't the best at spelling etc, but they manage to get by & are a credit to the forum.

No-one is promoted due to the fact that they answer peoples queries.
There's many a user on here with high post counts, but looking back at their contributions, most of it is utter tosh.

ie any response gets a tick...

I have to agree with you Nara, I cannot see what this thread is trying to get to? What is it that you need clarification on? Post counts, Label ... what? Everybody is here to help each other and expand our knowledge on all things from the weird to the incredible. If you feel like somebody is taking the pish then notify the mods and they will sort it for you.

I could understand being insecure if you are a newbie or if the site was intimidating but the site to me as a very good family friendly atmosphere and there are many different threads in which you could contribute.

Your post count doesn't matter at all. The rules of fight club are simple, help someone or take the piss out of them, it's all rather simple

Have you tried putting up net curtains, and playing 'wanky chicken'.

You close the net curtains, turn the lights on, and wank naked in your front window. The more people you see through your window whilst wanking the more points you get. If someone sees you, your game ends for that day, unless you can come within 5 seconds of them screaming, then you get an extra life.

The scoring system is as follows:

Postman: 1 point
Mother with kids: 3 points
Leafleter: 1 point per takeaway menu
Any religious figure (Vicar, Imam, Auditor): 5 points
Lollipop Lady: 4 Points
Brian Blessed: 18 Points
A relative: 10 Points
An MP: 8 Points
Milkman: 4 Points (6 points if he is whistling)

There is a more extensive point system available in the second volume 'Wanky Chicken: Rules, History & Tactics'.

The current record is held by Brian Rugmat, who clocked up 167 points on a Tuesday morning before the window cleaner arrived.

I dont get it tbh and i think some people are taking the post count and rep thing way too serious and need to have a word with themselves!!
We all started as noobs with varying levels of knowledge on technology and i can assure you mines was limited but i never let that hold me back and if you want to learn new stuff and like a bit of banter then DW is the place to be.

If we were to scrap the rep and post count then we would all look the same and in some cases people would get more confused at who to turn to.
I have seen posts from new people directed at senior members asking for advice as a friend told them about "free" help they got on DW.
I remember seeing a post from someone saying "help me Digidude" as they had satellite problems .

Status is something you build over a time period of helping, debating and contribting and its all reflected in your rep and post count and its wearing a bit thin when people start moaning and commenting at how it intimidates them.
This is a helpfull forum run by people and not drones being paid to answer questions in a false American accent.
If people can't habdle that then they should not be on a forum in the first place...
