Anyone remember Mobad's shed at the bottom of his garden?

What was the outcome?

Thanks Curly

But he started another thread after it all went wrong (leaks everywhere) and he had trouble with the neighbouring block of flats saying he shouldn't have used the wall

There was loads of discussion but it seemed to end abruptly.

I was just thinking about it the other day.

Hi Guys,

I totally forgot about the old post.
With the new job change and other changes I totally forgot to update it however I will get you some recent pictures.

Ill do a recap for you so you know exactly what happened and how things ended.

Basically when we got the builders (who did a good job on the neighbours house), I knew nothing about sheds apart from some basic research I did.
I explained to them what I wanted and the guy seemed he knew hes stuff, so we gave him the job.

We originally agreed to have 4 free standing walls but the builder was convinced after checking the back wall and one of the side walls were strong enough and would not need to be knocked down. The damp course was a concern but he assures me he knew what they were doing and that it would not leak.

Once the exterior was complete and the 4 walls were up and a roof on top, it rained (luckily for me) and this caused some leaking from under the floor. After thorough observation we found out the back wall needed rendering as it was an old wall and had gaps in it, so he got hes men to render it.
This caused a 1 off letter complaining from the flat's company behind us, who after we tried calling and sending a letter to, didn't bother again to contact us or complain again.

Once that was solved, it rained again few days latre. The floor didn't leak this time but the roof did and after having a look there seemed to be a hole which after applying some blackjack was all sorted.

The shed has now been leak free for over 4-5 months.
I used it on a regular basis to watch TV in or train and its fine.

The only one real problem I now have is that a hairline fracture has appeared on the side wall near the door and thats increased over the months.

Overall the room still looks amazing and its very cosy once the heaters have been put in but only a lengthy period of time will tell if the structure remains.

Happy New Year to you ALL!

That's that then.
I would get the roof looked at by an experienced flat roofer though.
Good luck mate.
