Picons with Pli Jade

Has anybody successfully got the picons working with Pli Jade using a Dreambox 500c not a dreambox 500s,

If there is could you tell me how you managed it , its spoiling an
otherwise excellent image,
Never had this bother with any other image

I've already got them on my box , theres still about 25% space left,
Ive tried them just about everywhere with no show,
thats why I'm looking for someone whos managed to do it,
maybe guide me through it

"Show Picons" in Menu > setup > User interface settings > OSD options

Yes its possible I managed it a few months ago but got fed up renaming the channels. You need to download the pli skin with icon support from pli server. Turn the icons on as already mentioned and then copy over your icons to /var/tuxbox/config/enigma/picon/ or mount Var on you HDD and then download the picons from 28.2 east from pli server which pretty much cover uk cable.

Next part is you have to rename your picons to match the service reference of the channel. Enter your dreambox ip in your browser and zap to a channel . At the top menu select channel info and then stream info. Here you can see your service ref. Probably other ways of getting your service ref.

Now the boring part. Rename your picon with the service ref for example

Service Reference: 1:0:1:ca:2:31:0:0:0:0:


Rename picon 1_0_1_CA_2_31_0_0_0_0

Your picon should now show.


You can use alternative skins but you may need to edit the skin file .esml and add a command to turn on the picons.

I've already got plicons enabled and tried putting picons in various folders ,
with no luck,
If I need to rename all the icons then fook it ,I'm
sticking to good ol DW2.1 lol

Yes unfortunatly its a case of renaming the icons with the new pli image. Dont know why they chose the service refs for the picons and not the channel name.

You could use a program called Bulk Rename Utility to do this all for you: Tutorial - Bulk Rename Utility
