1)with a 100cm dish in northwest of england m8 what satelites should i pik up??

2)what signal and quality level should i get ?should all sats be same? and whats the best sat and channel to fine tune??

3)how high really should the dish be above my gutter line to get best achievment(faces south over roof line)

4)does lnb quality make any difference atall??

and last 5) does the lnb just go strate or should it have some skew?and how deteremental if atall is it to the overall quality and ability to pik up sats???

comprehensive answers would be great if poss sorry for all the questions but im looking at 1 final trip up ladders to put it to bed and enjoy the blood thing...

thanks all in advance

1, the main ones m8, 42E, 28.2, 19, 16, 13, 10, 5, 1W, 5W, 12.5, 15, 22, 30W

2, anything really from 68+ should get a picture, sky will be massive when compared to digitalb, so not all are the same. i use channel balkaniki on 16E for fine tuning myself m8

3, as long as the dish has line of sight and wont catch on the tulie when turning keep it as low as you can, i usually have the arm at the bottom of the dish about 8" above the tiles then check by manually turning the dish with the motor switch that itll clear at full turn

4, the noise fugure of the LNB matters, id imagine you have a 0.2dB lnb, this is far more sensitive than a 0.7dB

5, set the LNB straight in the lnb holder, as the dish turns, so will the skew of the lnb to match ;)

6, theres no such thing as 'one last trip up the ladders' m8 lmao

how would i know m8?? it was just loose in the delivery box......

does the in and out so to speak make any difference?(closer or further to dish)
and also is there a differencr with quality of lnb's?

well thats just great lmao.......i hate heights and im pissed of with being up there lmao.....

my main prob is withind 20 degrees either way from south im ok but outside i get nowt and even within i dont get all transponders..... im thinking this could be the elavation?? what you think?

thanks for the quik response m8 you ust have blue lites lol

forgot to ask also

i use channel balkaniki on 16E for fine tuning myself m8

i dont even have that chanel listed and a scan dont pik it up either lol

Load one of the preset channel listings, i.e. Captains, etc. They have all the channels listed.

Use dreamboxedit to load them in, transfer to dreambox and reload.

Balkanika music tv is on 11.140 H 27,700 3/4 m8 ;)

for what you are describing with the so' each side dropping off, it sounds like the elevation on the motor bracket m8, not the dish bracket, im looking for a picture that i uploaded many moons ago thatll explain better

the dB value of the LNB will be written on it m8, and as for how far in or out should the lnb be in the holder, put it so the back of the front of the lnb (eh? lol) is about 5mm from the holder

ok im gonna try manually add that

i set the motor at my latitude 53.5 is that correct? in the techno mate handbook it gave declanation angle of 7.5 so i set the dish at 22.5

although i had to raise the dish to 24 ish....

i will put the side of the fronts rear rites fronts rear o n the lnb and try thhat also...

i will take some pics of the install tomorow and if you would be so kind as to see if theres out obvious id apreciate i m8

1 last thing is lining the motor to the center of dish do you do it by eye? cos its pretty hard getting 2 object that arnt square squared lol im not sure mine is 100% accurate alought id say it was only a max of 3% out but id prefer a scientific way of making sure lol

cheers as always pal your a diamond...

Any reason why you use this channel rather than say the BBC World on Thor to fine tune your dish?

from what i can gatherm m8 its the weakest signal so once thats at its best the stronger channels will be peaked

some one will correct me if i stuffed that up lol

as madmanc says, its a pretty weak channel in between two very strong satellites, so i first use bbc world on thor (1W) then once i have that ill turn the dish to BBC1 on sky (28.2E), then to andaluciaTV on hispasat (30W) then TRT1 on turksat (42E), these are normally fine, ill then turn to balkanikaTV on W2 (16E) just to fine tune the dish

the way i always do it is to set the latitude on the motor bracket before fitting the dish to it, then by eye, attach the motor to the dish, the motors pole (tube) has a line on the center to help with this, as you tighten a bolt on the left the dish WILL turn to the right and vice versa, so ensure you tighten both sides of the clamp evenly while keeping looking closley at the line on the tube

OK I got a strange one, I can get Hispasat and everything right through up to Astra 2 (92%) but cannot get anything after 28 East any ideas?

lol thats exacly what im getting now but im on 80% on bbc world ;-(

digidude what level of quality and signal should i expect on balkini thingy channel??

cheers pal

as Digi says"there's no such thing as a last trip up the ladder" mine had shit kicked out of it with the recent high winds and am gonna have to sort the bolts on the dish face as the wind hasn't half expanded the holes thus the slightest bit wind and the picture goes down the plug!
