Sports Direct founder Mike Ashley admits pay errors - BBC News
in my days if I was 3 mins late I was docked 15mins pay and I thought that was bad enough
Did you not tell your boss it was hard work riding a bike up that hill carrying a hovis @Ratts?
I refuse to shop in that place . Never will unless he changes his employment practices
Government was urged to put a stop to zero hours but have so far refused but they do have powers I'm sure I read to do that and this has nothing to do with EU. The EU isn't stopping them. All done under the wonderful watch of the EU, so much for concern for workers rites, My arse....

The EU were the ones that introduced working time directive which I believe helped try and find a balance between home/work life. If I remember correctly, when it was brought in, our beloved government had to exempt a certain profession (for a certain time) so they could recruit more staff (a good thing if you ask me).
The thing is would we have had similar laws if we weren't in EU? I would like to think so but before EU introduced it, our government hadn't done anything and tried to put it off knowing it would cost businesses (themselves included) more money due to extra staff, etc.
For the record, i'm currently undecided on EU as I would like best of both worlds lol.
Anyhow back to Mike Ashley... As I said, I don't think he's alone in how employees are treated now. More and more businesses i've found are heading towards that direction and I think it's wrong
I heard just the other week that bus drivers can be fined if they're early at a bus stop (easily solved by taking time at a bus stop) but also if they're late even though it can be through no fault of their own. Which I can imagine most of time they're late due to diversions and/or traffic.
What is happening to the world lol
