no way final RTM

ActivateS with KMS V6 without time-bomb

Protocol is still v6, so it would activate. It being called RTM doesn't change this. It's NOT the RTM.
If they're going to change the protocol, they'll only do it on the real, final, gold, stamped and approved, RTM.

Windows 10 RTM candidate build 10176

Build 10176 is being treated like the RTM (Release to Manufacturing) build, as it was compiled as a candidate.

This is simply one of the builds Microsoft is compiling as a candidate for RTM. From what we've learned, this build did not pass testing as Microsoft has already complied newer builds.

There is no watermark (this is because the RTM will not have a watermark).

Windows 10 is set to be released on July 29th.

I bought a used Samsung NP350V5C on line. It has a Intel core i7 CPU, 8 GB ram and a 250 GB SSD. It came with windows 10 Pro insider preview evaluation copy build 10162 installed and it boots up in 15 seconds. I'm very impressed but I don't have clue what "insider preview evaluation copy means in terms of what happens when the final version of Win 10 rolls out in a couple of weeks. Does this mean that it is time limited or will I have to roll back to win 8 or 7 pro to get the upgrade to win 10 ?

If the serial key is kept in an encrypted form in the BIOS or UEFI then you’re laughing.

Otherwise you’ll have to find a Win 7 or 8 key.

Many thanks Idrob m8
Tried to display the OEM key using pkeyuibx & win8key+ but ended up with just the win 10 preview key 8N67H-...etc I tried Showkeyplus and it gave me the win 10 key then a 25 digit OEM key, then “key not valid underneath.” I am hopeful that this is the win8 key..... any thought guys ?
Thank again

I’ve never had a legit key so never used the Showkeyplus but as it happens I just bought a Linx 10 Tablet for someone today with win 8.1 on it.

Later on if I’m allowed access to it (There’re too excited at the moment), I’ll use the Showkeyplus on it before I install Win 10 and let you know.

But the 25 digit OEM key you have should be the one you will need for the upgrade to Win 10

Installed Key = This is the product key that Windows is currently activated with.

OEM Key = This is the key stored in the UEFI firmware chip on the motherboard.

The other way to get your key is:

Open a command prompt, Copy and paste the command below into the command prompt, and press Enter.

Microsoft is internally testing 10240 for RTM

Microsoft Takes Down Windows 10 Preview Download Links Ahead of RTM

Builds 10162 and 10166 no longer available

if you want to install the latest Windows 10 build you have no other option than to search online for alternative download links, as Microsoft is no longer shipping the preview via Windows Update or making it available through official ISOs.
