Why do people treat animals in this way
this happens to be a breed that I have so feel strongly about it, but shouldn't happen to any breed

He should be around 50kg + (8 stone +)

I know this post won't interest to everyone but I just wanted to post it
this is the dog and what it should look like .... btw this dogue is in the USA

Omg Rat that is shocking. :-(. Do you have any report on this dog? Is it safe? Has the owner been strung up by the bollox yet?. This is so annoying to see and very depressing. I hope the dog is re homed now for everyones sake.

He has been taken in by a rescue called Big Bully Rescue, tbh it's not looking that good for him

This is so desperately sad, how could anyone with an ounce of humanity let this happen? Sadly the perpetrators won't have to suffer the same fate, as it would be against their human rights. Personally I think they gave up those 'rights' in allowing poor Hank to suffer like that.

Ffs Rat I am speechless I hope Hank makes a recovery it is not looking to good though is it?. How can this go on surely somebody has seen the state this dog is in and reported it?. It is very sad indeed. God bless you Hank.

as you can imagine its going to take a while for him to gain weight, tbh he was close to death from what Ive been reading
he is gradually taking food in small amounts and is still fairly weak but its a progress

Hank looks tons better Rat. If he is taking food that has got to be a good sign hasn't it?. I truly hope this is going to be a happy ending for all our sakes. Good luck Hank

What pisses me off is despite the neglect Hank suffered at the hands of his owners he would of remained loyal to them.

So cruel but sadly something that happen to animals all to often.

As promised to all..a few updated photos of Hank (post 10 above).....a glimmer of hope..but he is weak....he struggles to stand, his breathing is deep due to fluid around his lungs.. and to walk, it takes all he has, but he wagged his tail today and he ate a few bites of food, continued IV fluids and love.....he is the sweetest boy ever.

Well done to anyone taking in a rescue dog.

We took in a 8 month old Staffy from Dogs trust. We have had this breed before and don't believe the devil dog hype its rubbish.

I have had 3 now during my life time and their the most lovable dogs ive come across, people that meet mine sure change their opinions on them shortly after.

Fast becoming the choice dog of the pensioner in my area.

IT IS WITH HEAVY HEARTS THAT WE WRITE THIS AND WE STRUGGLED TO EVEN FIND THE WORDS...HANK WAS SET FREE YESTERDAY, NOVEMBER 26, 2013 HIS SWEET AND GENTLE SOUL FLY FREE....

HANK PUT UP A GOOD FIGHT BUT WE HAD TO MAKE THE DECISION TO LET HIM GO, ULTIMATELY HE SUCCUMBED TO HIS NEGLECT AND WAS NOT ABLE TO TURN IT AROUND. HELP CAME FOR HIM TOO LATE.....HE WAS NEGLECTED AND STARVED FOR SO LONG THAT HIS BODY JUST COULD NOT OVERCOME THE SEVERE INTERNAL DAMAGE DONE. LATE SATURDAY EVENING, HE BEGAN TO SHOW NEUROLOGICAL DISTRESS AND HE COULD NO LONGER GET UP ON HIS OWN, HE HAD TO BE CARRIED OUTSIDE TO GO TO THE BATHROOM, AND COULD NOT STAND ON HIS OWN TO URINATE.. AND HIS STOOL WAS WATER. HE WAS ALSO KNUCKLING OVER ON HIS BACK PAWS AND COULD NOT WALK AT ALL HE WOULD TRY TO GET UP BUT HE WOULD JUST FALL RIGHT BACK DOWN. HE HAD FLUID ON HIS LUNGS, HE WAS IN RENAL FAILURE, WITH SHALLOW BREATHING...AND HE STRUGGLED TO TAKE A BREATH...ON TUESDAY...OUR VET CONFIRMED, HE WAS IN PAIN AND DISTRESS.

IT FEELS LIKE FAILURE, THE ONLY THING THAT FEELS SOMEWHAT OF A SUCCESS IS THAT WE KNOW THAT IN THE THREE WEEKS WE HAD HIM IN OUR CARE...HANK FELT LOVED AND HE KNEW PEOPLE CARED ABOUT HIM...SO TO US THAT MEANS A LOT. AT LEAST HE DID NOT PASS ALONE THINKING THAT KNOW ONE CARED...OUR HELP FOR HANK JUST CAME TOO LATE...

WE GAVE IT EVERYTHING WE HAD, SPECIAL HAND MADE FOOD EVERY DAY FOR HIM, IV BAGS EVERY DAY FOR FLUIDS AND VITAMINS, SUPPLEMENTS, SEVERAL TRIPS RUSHING HIM BACK TO THE VET FOR X-RAYS AND TESTS.. NOTHING WE COULD DO COULD REVERSE THE DAMAGE THAT HAD BEEN DONE.

SO ON TUESDAY THE 26TH AND WITH THE SUGGESTION OF OUR VET...WE SET HIM FREE. HE WENT PEACEFULLY IN THE ARMS OF OUR FOUNDER....

WORDS CANNOT EXPRESS OUR GRATITUDE FOR THE SUPPORT FROM PEOPLE ALL OVER THAT REACHED OUT FOR HANK, OR THAT DONATED TOWARDS HIS CARE....DAILY EMAILS FROM FOLKS CHECKING IN, PEOPLE PRAYING...WE HAD NO IDEA THE MAGNITUDE OF CARING THERE WAS OUT THERE, THANK YOU FOR THE AMAZING COMPASSION YOU HAVE SHOWN. BECAUSE ITS HARD TO STAY POSITIVE ABOUT THE GOOD IN THE WORLD WHEN YOU SEE SUCH HATE AND SUCH EXTREME ANIMAL ABUSE AND NEGLECT.
