Most would accept that minors look at this site and some of us do go over the top with swearing but in this case do you not think a pm would have been a better idea?

It just looks a bit pathetic tbh and maybe thats why people are complaining and to say "you know where the door is",, well that just feckin childish..

Its not really about that though Rat is it?
Don't get me wrong ave cringed a few times and laughed ma ass off at some of the drunk posts (Dogtoffee requesting a ban was a classic) but two good guys have been singled out when a simple pm would have been plenty and ended the swearing.

The atmosphere has been pants the last few weeks with tabloid crap threads that have been posted simply to create a reaction and annoy people.
DW stands out from a lot of other sites as most of our members contribute and debate to a high standard so the site is respected.

There is a bad element aswell who seem to post very regular often with spoons who have been banned god knows how many times and are possibly using many accounts who's post are shocking and close to the bone.
They are playing a stupid game and banking on the old censorship to protect them which is working very well at the moment.

The end result is confusion, friction and decent members being told "there is the door if you don't like it".
Am not saying "anyone" is bigger or more important than the site its just sad to see the site being poisoned by these clowns...:Cheers:

No not at all,,am no trying to pick a fight mate there's been plenty of that recently and its plain to see mods do a difficult job.
My point is if people post crap that sometimes looks like it is designed to purely start fights or friction then a would monitor that carefully and deal with it quickly if the thread begins to look like a slagging match via pm or whatever you think is required.

A full thread vanished last night and today people are being warned for swearing on a thread that isn't there but other threads that were much worse are still there to see.
It just looks stupid....

Well story is MOD thanked a member with 9 posts. The member told a fellow member to go to a pub where he hopes he gets a fckn kicking.

Was this not ever discussed among other mods?

TBH mate all im intrested in is shall we turn DW into a totalitarian forum? as all off you know its a easy going forum but when the going gets a bit tough everyone seems to moan why?

So are the most of us mate. and for along time the place was. But the way the place is being handle of late is a joke.

I sorted my problems out since my ban but still pissed off at being banned for no reason. As were a fair few others.

This place has took a turn for the worse with threads being deleted etc.

And is the place that bad that mods cant be questioned if done in a proper manner?

Mod dont mean god but some over the past while have been acting like it.

Mods can openly attack to members in public but dont like it back as its called MOD BASHING.

I couldnt care less whats done to me if its fair and I broke rules. But when mods dont play the game its ok ?

That all depends on the definition of “out of line”.

On most forums "out of line" = don’t agree with moderator.

It was always a different atmosphere here.



On a different note, I really don’t understand the issue with swearing. I know this is a "family forum", but swearing really is just part of UK culture now.

Children young enough not to understand swear words should not be using the internet unaccompanied. If they do, surely they would be better on the harry potter forum than DW.
Any adults who are truly offended by swear words should seek dermatological advice for their thin skin.

There is plenty of content on this forum that could be deemed offensive (some of it very). Just because it does not contain any swear words it is somehow permissible

Making the decision of good v bad based only on swear content does not seem like a sensible approach to me.

Don’t get me wrong, I am not having a pop at the moderators here, I know they have a hard job to do. I guess my only real point that I don’t see a problem with swearing.

I WAS banned for no reason. Well if you count laughing at England world cup campaign, or is that a rule. A mod too this personal (no abusive remarks) and I was banned.

Apparently I have swore but have asked to be show this but noting has been forthcoming as of yet.
