Oh dear! My pants have become all sticky :blushing:

sounds damn good to me, would love a duel tuner model but i expect that would be out of my price range :(

any idea on price yet or is it all still under wraps for now?

the only info ive been given on price for this model is ~£200

Great... TM-500 and TM-600 still have beta software without suport for external card readers, and another model appears. I hope technomate stops ripping off itgate work, and hire good devs for better software support. The HD linux Itgate model is comming soon, and probably will have better software support.

Cheers.

TM-500/600 software is NOT in beta. How can you say software support is not good?! The softwares are fully released and are working very well. Many teams are developing for these two STB's. Just because it does not currently support external card reader, does not somehow make a software in beta form. And before you make assumptions for HD, just wait.

You know as good as I do, that the software technomate linux receivers use, are made for the itgates. The receivers hardware is great, but the software can't use it 100%. My TM-600 is very often slow to react to remote commands, looks like it is about to stop working any minute (specially in channels list), this makes zapping slow. The usb ports are just for recording (doesn't work in DS image, but works in UR, thanks), but is not possible to use external readers, I was thinking of buying an usb hub 7 ports, and use 5 smargos readers.

Another thing, this can be my problem, and not the problem with the UR images, in DS images, we can see ecms info in the osd (ecm time, dcws, peers, hops, etc) with the UR I can't do this... UR images with black matrix skin with ecm info would be great, just like edg-nemesis.

Thanks for your support.

Usb shouldn't be just for recording. Another thing usb ports could be used for, was for using usb wifi adapters, like dreambox. Dreambox hardware is crap, but the software is mature, and makes full use of the crappy hardware and makes it work, in the technomate we have great hardware that is wasted by the beta software.

If technomate wanted, we could also use usb dvb-c and dvb-t tuners in technomate receivers...

I know that UR team doesn't have the time for all this, since they do it in theirs free time, that's why technomate should hire some devs, like dreambox did with gemini and cccam uvadi team. Good hardware needs good software.

i don't have anything like this on my TM600 with latest UR image, it is slightly laggy for about 10/20s when you take it out of standby but after that there is no noticeable lag at all...

Edit:
Just thought could this be linked to channel list size, as i've only got uk channels loaded on mine. have you got alot of channels loaded.. ?

ive got a monster list on mine, and found that when the remote was lagging, that if i did a factory reset and reinstalled my cchannel lists etc that it cleared it

i normally find its like this after flashing a new image, but a reset sorts it out for m8, and im normally flashing an image onto it for some reason or another at least 5 times a week

My channel list is a little big, I've 30ºW, 13º 16º and 19,2º East satellites, I always do factory reset before and after I install a new image, I hadn't this problem with lag in dm500s with gemini 4.70 or edg-nemesis 4.40.

About the receivers, technomate and itgate (same hardware) was my favorite brand for linux receivers, but the new tm500 and tm600 software is not as good as the tm9100 with edg-nemesis, I hope that with the new hd receiver, software support for the old models doesn't stop. If edg-nemesis start supporting tm500 and tm600 I know they will do a good job.

About the hd receiver, will it have rf-out? It is very usefull in my tm600 and azbox elite.

I agree 100%, with the inevitable death of cable boxes in this country, there will be a lot of people looking for an alternative hobby, and if the TM500 and TM600s software is not upto scratch then i think a lot will look elsewhere, which would normally be attracted by the Linux side of these boxes

Imho

For me the TM600 is faultless and never needs rebooting like some dm500 and some clones do. I can only speak as I find and I find the TM600 excellent bit of kit and superb value for money.
