funcard trouble

afternoon all feel embarresed about having to ask this, been ages since actually done a funcard from scratch just normally replace flash file and all ok but had a friend lose their funcard so thought id just programme another but upon doing so and inserting in box,i get box appear on screen saying wrong smartcard inserted pulling my hair out now.heres what im doing and if im doing anything wrong or have missed something be appreciated if someone can point it out.i live in pure area,bedfordshire the box is a 4010 i use toxic enter cam,bk,ird and click ntl on bottom save file.im using infinity usb unlimited card programmer open up program select funcard load ext eep file which was just made with toxic and load flash file which is shani fix and write but no joy.done other cards by just replacing the same flas but cant do a card from scratch now.any help appreciated

are you loading .bin or .hex file.
needs to be .bin to prog card.

:grabnce you`ve made bin file with toxic drag bin file over to swap binhex so you get a hex file from the bin file you just made load up your programer load the shani file to the flash file & the hex file you just made to the ext eep file ,erase card load the ext eep file first then the flash file put on bbc1 turn off box insert card turn back on and wait about 10 min to catch the keys

Does putting the box on the bbc 1 signify or help the cause or the catching of the keys?

Should it not update whether or not is on BBC 1 ? I too am having problems with getting the fun card to update. i had the ext eeprom loaded already. just updated the flash with the one from the downloads sections (12th Nov Pure SHani). This doesnt seem to help. I will also now try putting on to channel BBC 1 and trying.

tried that all i keep getting is the smartcatd isnt inserted properly.left on bbc1 for about an hour do i have to reset box or anything cause cant remember cam number used on last card.

I get the same prob with no smartcard inserted. changed cam ids but nothing but fta. Can you assist me as well

Also are you in Pure,ex C/W or Telewest?

have you got the correct ird & bk ? otherwise looks like you are doing everything right.
has the firmware updated to 3.7 ?

Wrong smartcard inserted suggests to me a wrong IRD number, i would double check that. Also your exteep needs to be a hex fil so drag >bin file onto swapbinhex and use the hex file created.

Doesnt have to be a hex file if you're using a rom 11 image as you're external eeprom. This is a bin file.
Only a hex when creating a new external eeprom through toxic.

hi there i have been having the same problems with the pace 1000 and 2000 and the 4000 aswell and what my problem was i had to force update to all boxes and then the shani flash file worked but none of the boxes i have has any anti update mods on them as they wont update if they have....
