Hi to all, new member to this forum so here goes with my first post lol:proud:

Well for starters I would just like to thank everyone who puts all of the hard work into the whole cable box situation, because without them I would be completley lost.

Moving on...

I have been asked by a friend if I would be able to supply him with a modded box and card so this is where i need help??

From what I have read the Samsung 2100 seems to be the easiet and favourite box for getting the BK and IRD (Jtagging) but just wanted other people's oppinions on which box to buy.

And if anyone has anylinks to website where to buy... that would be much appreciated

Sorry if this has already been asked

Hi

If you`re going to be buying a box why not buy a cardless one, no messing with cards then eh.

get yourself a dreambox or dbox and you wont go wrong. There are millions of sites around offering support etc so you wont get stuck :)

I agree totally.

I have a starview myself as it is much easier than re-programming a card all of the time.

But them guy who wants the box has been told by a someone that he should get something like a Samsung 2100 with a card, so now is adimant on one like that.

So was just after a little info on which you think would be the best box to buy??

I am thinking in terms of ease for getting the BK and IRD.

Hopefully I will get a box with a matching card that I can read, but if not would like a box that is fairly easy to read the keys.

Thanks

Obviously ultimate choice is your friends, but surely you can convince him the advantage of owning a dbox/dreambox/starview etc compared to a carded samsung one?

Well yea I could give it ago, but recently I have been doing a lot of reading up into how to completley mod a box from start to finish, and from the different tutorials I have read I think I understand what needs to be done.

So now I would like to give it ago myself and see if i can acutally mod a box.

Would be most pleased with myself if I could mod a box all on my own (with some help from on here) lol

I'm now at the stage of buying a box, so anybody who has done their own box it would be helpful to know which box you used, and in your opinion which would be the easiest to do.

I use a 4001 it was pretty easy once i read the tuts. Not done any other kind so i can't compare.

Modding

Hi there,

For modding, the sammy 2100 is imo the easiest to deal with as the bk can be obtained from a card or jtagged from the machine fairly easily and the TB is just 2 surface mounted resistors, the 2100 is good in pure and ex cw areas, no good for ex tw. All ird's can be obtained from the EM fairly easily.

I can also support the cardless recommendations as I have a dbox2 and have found it fairly easy to get to grips with.

Hope this helps

Muskrat

Gotta agree with al the comments on the 2100 but another cardless box to throw into this thread has got to be the Kryptview, IMHO.

If the box is for your friend than I would go for a box that going to cause you the leats grief when there are problems as we had recently. I am a Eurovox fan myself but the Kryptview people got their fix out before anyone so worth considering with a new box.

@Muskrat hello m8, nice to see you back online. Glad you sorted your dbox2, I managed to my wite my funcard again working lovely. You taught me well m8.

for me the best is the box super , plug it and worked within minutes!

eurovox is my choice

I would recommend the eurovox. Very popular in Ireland with local suppliers. Very good support, dealers that take back faulty boxes. Very good epg etc.

seems there are 2 threads looking for same info... but il give opinion here anyway...DREAMBOX 500C handsdown for the novice. small lightweight and as someone already said easy to use and update, i had a dbox2 , a replay, and a eurovox. but id settle for the 500c anytime

Hi

Some good choices there. Personally as far as cardless boxes are concerned the dbox2 was the business but difficult to find decent dbx now. Dreambox pretty good to as are the others although I`m not a fan of the eurovox. If you want less headeach and a simple box with good support go for the Kryptview if its just tv you`re interested in. If you want to do other things with your box then its either a dbox2 or a dreambox.
Thats if you have managed to convince your friend lol.

Regards

I have a 2100 and found it the easiest to do in terms of jtagging and cutting talkback.
I'm using a mosc (modified original smart card) which was fairly easy to program aswell, but I could've not done anything without the help from people in this forum. So if your mate wants a 2100 try and get a mosc to go with it as on the last keyroll I had no problems with my mosc's.

I'm in pure by the way.

I have not done a fun before and not sure how they work or done. You can also opt for a 4010 or 2110 if you are in pure but with the 2110 you need a paired card to obtain the bk.

Dbox 2 for me - no messing about with cards and plenty info on this forum to help you if anything goes wrong.

Eurovox all the way. So easy to use even my folks haven't had any problems. Simple solution = less stress for you when things go pear shaped.
