Can Chorus Card Be Used In The Dreambox..?

just wondering if the card from my chorus box can be used in my dreambox
it would mean I have the basic channels as backup when the keys role again ( keep her-indoors happy )
it would just be easier than hooking up the two boxes

would it be any benefit to us for finding the new keys when they do roll

I am guessing that I would change the softcam to Common Interface to use a card....

You need the boxkey from the card and that means you would have to crack your subscriber card.
Its maybe easier simply to edit the keylist.txt after the next keyroll.
The autoroll from evocamd is only at one position wrong and you have to add one to that position.

Example:

Evocamd give you
N 5E01 00 AxxxxxA.....
for a rom7 keyroll

The valid key is
N 5E01 00 AxxxxxB.....

Same for key01.

N -> Nagravision
5E01 -> provider ID for chorus
00 -> key number
Axxx... -> the real key.

it simple realy --- never had original nagra card, but its working for nds
no box id key needed btw (cccam+newcs)
-- au of 01 correct btw ( 00 is only issue )- new set of n1-n2 keys needed

It's time like these that I wish I could program.

Surely a simple batch file (or whatever they're called in Linux) could take the false code and add a value of 1 to the wrong digit then write the corrected key to the keylist file?!

well, u had to know boxid for nds just aswell....... like 3 years ago
just live boxid blank in newcs .xml

A nds card tell you the boxkey if you ask friendly.
A nagra card is not willing to do so.

How do I go about this I have an orginal smart card?. I've altered it to be a MOSC but how do you setup the dreambox to get the keys from it.

You need newcamd and newcamd cardserver and you have to write the boxkey to the cardserver config file.

My dreambox has been gathering dust for awhile. But now Its stopped working for everyone I'm interest in having it up and running again. I never really messed about with it. Not really sure how to go about with your advice but I'll do a bit of searching. All I know was the basic of getting DW image onto the box.

If you want to use your card and you know the boxkey install a gemini image, install newcamd and newcamd cardserver plus config files via online addon. Edit the cardserver config file with your boxkey and enable newcamd and cardserver in the blue button menu.
Thats it.

Its a better idea to crack your subscriber card. If something went wrong you can tell upc the kids lost the card or such thing else and you need a new one.
