Hi,

Calling all Scottish expatriates in England or Wales.......

My friend has a Sky card that is no longer subscribed (but works as a "freesat" card ie BBC1/2/ITV/Ch4/Ch5 etc). He bought it with a secondhand digibox. The card works as it should BUT it is registered to a Scottish postcode. The concensus elsewhere on DW is that Sky won't change the postcode (for free).

This means that:
Ch 101 is BBC1 Scotland
Ch 102 is BBC2 Scotland
Ch 102 is ITV (STV)

My friend lives in BBC East (sudbury) area.

If anyone wants to do a swap (so that they can receive the Scottish channels by default), then we would happily exchange cards by post.

We know that we can get the correct channels by using "Services/Other channels)....but it would be more convenient to be able to use 101/102/103 etc.

We don't want to sell the card, just to swap it with someone who yearns for STV....and has an Anglia East Sky card.

Any (UK) takers??

Sky Card pairing

Hi,

Thanks for the reply.

As far as I know, although the card is paired with the digibox (for Sky subscription purposes), it will act as a "Freesat" card in any digibox. (Can someone else, without a vested interest, confirm this please?)

If you wanted to turn it (back) into a Sky subscription card, I expect that Sky would happily send you a new card or re-pair your existing card with the "new" digibox.

We only want it as a "Freesat" card.

Cheers

Freesat cards aren't paired, only sub cards.

A freesat card will never be enabled to a subs card, they will issue a new card if you want to subscribe.
