Try this.
There are 4 screws that hold the head light unit in place, you need to remove the complete unit to gain access to the bulbs.
1. you will have to mask off the bumper under the head light first, this will stop you damaging the paintwork.
2. you now have to pull off the electrical connector block this is done by squeezing the small bridge on the side of the block.
3. remove the top 2 screws completely, then slacking off the bottom 2 screws but don't remove them.
4. now slowly pull the head light unit out being careful not to damage the paintwork.
5. lay the unit on a towel to stop it from damaging whilst you unclip the back cover, these bulbs are H7 55 watt.
6. replace bulb and reinstall same as removal. job done.
You dont need to take anything off mate. Used to own one of them.
Depends which one is gone, you need to twist the holder so its in the OUT position. Then there is a metal ring that you have to remove, that is the tricky bit. Its just a ring that goes over the holder. Push it inwards with your thump, should clip out.
Pull out the bulb holder, replace the bulb and push it in and twist. Then replace the ring.
Takes about 30 seconds to do but taking the ring off and on took me around 10 minutes!!
ps: which one you got? the 1.9tdi?
I'll have a look tomorrow m8 but I couldn't see any screws other than the 2 on the top.
There really isn't any room to do much at the back of the unit to do anything. It's as tight as a gnats chuff.
It's a 2.0 se.
the 1PPLP version. (£1 per lamp post)
Pics not very clear mate but its in there somewhere. It is VERY tight i know was horrible changing bulbs in there.
2002...everything in the engine bay was very cramped not just the light bit.
