Where to add clines details for Enigma on Amiko Alien 2

Also remember that if you are using AutoBouquetMaker it will look to use a spare tuner, so as this is a twin tuner receiver you need to make sure that both tuners are setup correctly as per your setup. If you do have a 28.2 East feed to each tuner then set them both to this, if you only have one feed in then make sure the other tuner is set to nothing connected, otherwise ABM won't be able to get a lock as it's trying to use a tuner it thinks is working when infact there is no feed connected.

The third (actually listed as the first in the Tuner Configuration menu) DVB-C/T/T2 tuner can be setup as you wish, it won't affect ABM in terms of scanning satellite providers, only cable and terrestrial providers (if selected).

Hi guys thanks for reply one of the feeds wasn't working which is why it wouldn't get the lock. I now have bouquets but now I can't mount the hard drive to record, I've checked the driver and its fine and works ok and formatted it to ntfs but it won't work and tried formatting it on box, it gets to 99% then I get an error and it still won't mount. Do you have any other suggestions?

The drive should ideally be formatted to ext3 and generally this will mean it's auto mounted and available for use after a reboot.

You can format the drive on a PC or perhaps an even better way by booting to Spark and using the built in HDD manager, first delete all partitions then create a new one as ext3 primary and then boot back to Enigma2 and hopefully that will be that.

NTFS is the least favourite of formats to be using on a Linux receiver but if you must then you will first need to install the ntfs3g plugin which can be found under Drivers on the ViX4 feed, most likely the same on OpenATV. Once that's installed and the receiver rebooted the drive should hopefully be mounted and available including being able to be written to.

I use fat32 works ok got auto mounted, if not automounted, on remote goto menu>setup>vixs4E2project I think, select mount manager to mount your drive lavaman can correct me if I am wrong.

Yes lavaman I loaded this on today nice clean image just one slight criticism why have crossepg and xmtv importer. In my backup images I just include crossepg thats what most people prefer, theres nothing wrong with xmltv importer I use that on my personal images because it works in the background.

ps will recommend this image.

thankyou very much guys for all your help and support my box is up and running and working fine really appreciate your help.
just a couple of general questions, what is crossepg and xmltv importer? can i get a 7 day epg, does the box do a series link alternative and is vix4e2project compatible with portal as when i press it i get nothing:banana:

hi have you got firezilla install on your pc or laptop ? this is the easiest way to do it

Use either crosepg or xmltv for 7 day epg:

crossepg make sure it is pointing to your harddrive and in providers select opentv and then make sure theres a tick against opentv uk, you can also choose rytec then rytec sky uk but I always had problems in choosing rytec on my Alien.

xmltv is another epg addon which I prefer works in the background choose your source as rytec uk and then yellow button manual download.

In both cases you can set it to download once a day to download epg data.

I have not tested this with this image but in other images downloading the media portal plugin brings the portal to life a lot of streaming content but not what I want, there are other plugins for streaming.

As a similar but more UK specific use the VIX4E2PROJECT image, download the OScam ymod softcam direct from the plugin server, set the cam as your default in the Softcam manager and start it.

Now simply use the OScam webif to edit the premade example(s) (http://ipofreceiver:8888) save the changes and restart OScam.

No need to worry about converters, FTP or IPKs this way and much more tailored to the UK market out the box so to speak.

Any chance you could explain in detail how and where you find the oscam webif and premade example Thank you

The oscam webif is available for most images, but to use it you must have oscam as your softcam.
You can get the Oscam for your image by going to the plugin menu then green button to install plugins then look in softcams and find the oscam you want and install.
Once installed, from your computer go to your browser and enter the ip of your box followed by 8888
Eg. 198.***.*.**:8888

Ok got that now do i just edit the newcamd-server list and save and restart cam on the box

What I did was go into tuxbox files and copied my oscam server file that I had made using cccam to oscam, deleted dvbapi started oscam ylod and hey presto my box worked

Hi again I have installed media portal but most of the content appears German. Is there a setting to search for english/american content

Hi - I've been reading this thread to try and get my Nline on an Amiko alien 2 with the ViXE2PROJECT image loaded.
I've added the Oscam plugin and made oscam_ymod active via softcam setup.

I'm not clear on where to go from here.

I noticed Lavaman said details could be entered without messing about with converters - could I get a walk through please. Is it as simple as adding the nline details (username/password/IP/port) into the setup page?

or
Is Morphs way the way to do it? If so - where are the Tuxbox files?
Thanks

Yes it's very simple once you've loaded and activated OScam ymod as you have then head to the WebIf of OScam and click on the readers header at the top. There will be a whole bunch of different readers listed on there, edit the Newcamd one if it's an N line you have, edit the CCcam one if it's a C line you have.

Once on the chosen reader just edit the server address and port number (an example will already be there - don't forget to leave the comma between the two), the username and password and in the case of Newcamd the des key if it's anything other than the default 01 to 14 (again pre-filled in for you). Also remember to check the enabled box (or it will not be active!) and once you are happy those settings are all correct click save at the bottom of the page. Finally click on Shutdown and then restart - all being well a few seconds later it will be active and working.

Remember that C and N lines don't need the C: and N: part in OScam, as long as you follow that and remember the comma between the URL and port number (very clear when you look at the pre-made example) then you should have no problem at all, it takes literally seconds.

Thanks Lavaman - That worked perfectly for me. Apologies for not replying earlier, Easter and all that :)

Great start for me here. Loving the ViX image.

Thanks again.

When I go to try get into the oscam webif it doesn't let me do it? like when I put in the four 8's it doesn't load. A webif does come up when I just put in the ip, but it looks nothing like the one is videos?

make sure you do it in the address bar not the google bar and put the dots : in before the 8888 then press enter.
