Hi there,
Recently joined and the first advice/assistance received was fantastic so am back with a new question on a widely discussed topic (hopefully):
We're about to move house. We've cancelled sky as its a rip off and all their "deals" are heavily biased towards new customers and they refuse to entertain or support their existing customer base ( 10 years is obviously not long enough to qualify for discounts...?!)
so.... I've been discussing the strategy for using android box tech to provide us with a multi-room type setup akin to Sky Q, that offers the recording features of Sky+, with access to the typical internet services we have on our Smart TV. If anyone can be of any help I'm trying to get some advice on the following topics:
1. most reliable android system that allows multi-room and level of tech skill required to set it up and maintain.
2. are there any security implications for home network by opting for android box technology?
3. What speed of broadband should we accept as a minimum for optimum performance when streaming media from the Internet to the boxes?
I'll apologise in advance if I've not explained anything in enough detail - if so, please ask and I'll do what I can to elaborate.
thanks,
A.
