Xtreamer problems it can not see DL (.mkv)
OK i just got this
great bit of kit but the reason i punted is it supposed to play (.mkv)x264

so i DL A few films one being
Monsters.vs.Aliens.2009.720p.PROPER.BluRay.DTS.x264-EPiK
i have a few on my main pc and on a external hd
VLC media palyer will play them and the above film just fine
it can see all the the avi and Divx/Xvid on my pc and plays them fine
(had to hide the porn lol )
its all working i can connect to the net and my pc
the confection is direct from my pc
its just not seeing them i have tried diff ways of directing the Xtreamer
to them and have also put the (.mkv)x264 on a portable hd and pointed the Xtreamer to the usb HD And the files location


Im having a bad week trying to set things up
1st my monitor fused taking out my vid card and stopping play
then i installed a router all good and everything working fine
i got my deambox running after a crap image and sever line ..

And then i find my net keeps dropping out !! after i put it down to the router and farted around some more !!
after facking around for hours i ring VERMIN whom inform me there's technical issue
causing my net to drop out that was on wed and its still not resolved and wont be until monday !!
so im on my 02 dongle !! which is so Slllooowwww

Can anyone help me out as my stress level is @ monster ...

l just watched a mkv on mine heres the setting on the one l watched .. l did put on my external drive tho because it didnt stream well . but it was there , have u updated f/w

MkV's play for me. As you only have it, did you flash latest fw 2.02 ???

Some people reported they had to restore defaults in the settings then reboot.

yehh it came with ver 2.0 on there i did what is said on the web page and upgraded the fw to Ver 2.0.2
im assuming that its working correctly as i say i can play all other file types it supports from my pc

Im close to smashing the fucker it like a conspiracy to turn my brain into mush
i tell ya ive had a run of it this week


How do i restore it before i loaded the new fw i did a factory restore on the box via the menu !! is there a diff way ...

u load the f/w then u just restore after l think m8 , mine just rebooted after on its own tho

To retore defaults just go to settings/system and its near the bottom, then reboot.

i just restored it after the fw update a few times and now it can see the movie
BUT only on my portable HD
not over the network !!!
so whist i now know it will play as before its just not seeing the files on my hd
im gona reboot the pc and see if its some anomaly
coz ive had a few of them this week
but the boxing is on and im not gona miss that

thx for sorta getting me working chaps better than nowt ehhh
any more ideas ???
