xbox help

[Spudchops]

Just turned on my xbox for the first time in about a year. Was soft modded and had a new hard drive installed. Now when I turn it on it is going to error 5.

Dunno what I have done to it it. Any ideas.

P.S. is it something simple like you have to turn it on a certain way or something??

Not soft modded, I chipped it with a duox2 lite chip, is there a certain way to turn it on so that the chip is on and a way to turn it on with the chip off.

Have a sneaky suspicion I am doing something simple wrong.

Just wanted to sheck before I resolder the joints incase that is the prroblem

Error 5 is harddrive not locked. If it's got a chip in it then I suggest it is turned off and cannot read the harddrive because it isn't locked.

To fix this problem, turn the chip on and boot up.

Once you boot up with the chip on, boot an Evox disk and lock the drive, you can then turn the chip off and the xbox will still boot
