The official death toll from the World Trade Centre terrorist attacks has been lowered by 42.
New York authorities have reduced the total of the September 11 atrocity from 2,792 to 2,750.
The reduction has been partly put down to illegal immigrants whose jobs were not accurately known but were in the area at the time.
Other names on the list of victims were given by worried callers who labelled friends or relatives as missing after not hearing from them.
New York's Reported Missing Committee has been given the task of searching for fraudulent and mistaken cases and removing them from the list.
