not a lot mate, you can use it to set the region of the wiifree chip if you use it as the first disk you put in your wii after installing a wiifree, and you can use it to set the speed of the drive, you can set it to maximum for fast load times, or you can slow it down for a quieter drive, and to prolong drive life apparently
