Hardware why is pc memory not usable help

pc has a 8gb of mem installed but only allowing 3068 useable
any 1 got any ideas why and how to sort

You have to be using a 64bit operating system to use more than 3gb of memory.

Yes, you have to install 64bit windows.

sorted installed new windows 64 bit cheers for all the help .......g.....
