why cant i connect?

it shouldn't? mine is working great now using ad-hoc. will it make a difference or damage anything if i keep it like this?

It will work, you may not be able to connect to other pc's.

ad-hoc normally means point to point.

you may struggle when you begin to expand your network

but if its working, leave it

i've just changed it to infrastructure and it's also working so i'll just leave it on this. guess all it needed was a little mess on and unistalled card then reinstalled it and hey presto.
