I've found the"idiots guide" for silver cards but where's the one for goldies?<br />Also..someone (no names) gave advice on programming a goldie using the eeprom hex and the eepic hex. Does this mean that you don't have to use a loader hex first?<br />Just trying to get a clear picture..in my head! <img src="biggrin.gif" border="0"> <img src="biggrin.gif" border="0"> <img src="biggrin.gif" border="0">

required mp6 elvis and hex of your choice

1) Start MP6, put your blank card or pre -programed card that you wish to update in the programmer and hit 'auto detect' (WARNING: auto detect erases all data on card)

2) Eventually, you should see listed '1PIC+EEPROM' and under that 'PIC16F84' and '24C16'<br />3) Click on '24C16' and hit 'open'. Browse to the location of your Hex files and double click the one that says eep somewhere in the filename.

You have now assigned that file to that chip. It's file name and location are now stated next to the name of the chip.

4) Click on'PIC16F84' and hit 'open'. Browse to the location of your Hex Files and double click the one with 'pic' somewhere in the filename.

You have now assigned that file to that chip. It's file name and location are now stated next to the name of the chip.

5) Click on '1PIC+EEPROM' and the 'program' button should be lit.in the top right hand side at the top in the toolbar Click it.

The software now programs the two files into the two chips and shows various progress meters on screen. When everything stops, your card is programmed.

i edited and re-aranged this last night as a simple gold card tutorial i have just read it it looks ok to me so if anyone spots any errors you can slag me off below <img src="tongue.gif" border="0">

not knowing anything about Maximus and its software not sure m8 perhaps someone with the same porgrammer as you can answer this

Looks fine to me Damage but you could add something to cover the fact that they might want to reprogramed a card and to delete the previously detected projects

added this bit taff <br />or pre -programed card that you wish to update is that better m8 <br /> <img src="wink.gif" border="0">
