Digital ariels are specificaly designed for picking up ( as the name suggests ) digital broadcast signals, where as analogue ariels are ( yes you guessed it ) designed to pick up analogue broadcast signals. Either will work on either signal if it strong enough. I run 2 freeview boxes on my standard 14 element analogue ariel and they all work fine, I also run an old ondigital box in my shed on a 10 element analogue ariel. Basically if you live in a strong signal area then an analogue ariel in good condition will work fine, however if you live in an area with a weak signal you should invest in a digital ariel to receive a good digital signal. As for which one I don't really think there is any specific best one, it just depends on whats available in your area. Personally I wouldn't pay more than £30.00 to £40.00 for one as after that I don't think there is any difference quality wise.:ST Geo:
