what is the fastest way to download?

i have been using torrent now for a while now i want a change and have just downloaded newsbin pro added a free account and opened a nzb file but it is going really slow about 1.2 kbps is the a way i can make it faster or should i just scrap it and carry on using torrents.

Newsgroups should max out your connection but not all free servers will do this. It may also be the port your using. Who is your ISP and what was the free service.

it is virgin 2mb broadband and this is the free service freenews.netfront.net i also connect through a router if that helps and the port is set to 119

i had this problem..if u are trying 2 download an old file check u have access.somtimes you only can have a 21 day retention unless you pay.

ive signed up to teh premium account of rapidshare and find downloads pretty fast there

Have you tried using Virgins own news server, the retention isnt great but if you were to try out something recent them it may show better speeds.

newsgroups always max out my 10mb but also so can rapidshare and torrents if seeded well
