What Cable to use libby from PC to a 4000 box....

...do i need to use?

I have a 1000 phase 1b which has an rs232 port, however a friend has asked what cable does he need to connect his pc to his pace 4000 box as it has no rs232 port.

I browsed the tut section, and re-read the guide to using libby posted there, however its vague on what lead to use, referring to using a scart lead....????

I have also read some chap making up an rs232 port and soldering it onto his stb circuit board.

Short of doing this, is there a cable out there that can be used, and if so, where can I obtain one? Im presuming if there is a cable, maplins stock it....a link would be good

For you 4000 box you need a scart to serial lead, you can get it from here.

If you have to change the Network ID on your box , you have to get the serial to scart adapter!!!.

Yep its the only way to do it m8

Or you can solder a rs 232 max in to the Box ( a little bit like a jtag) to do it

But the scart to serial lead is easier way mate......
