VERY interesting find

ive updated both my 3300 and 3500, and the 3500 does now read a card with no problems. both recievers have a card in that needs to catch an update, which should hopefully happen in the next 12 hours

hi digidude

if this works does it make it a step closer to getting a 6900 to work?

amazing work m8

TBH m8 it 'should' but wether or not it does right now i cant say. i think the whole 1000, 5000 and 6000 series firmware will be completley overhauled (maybe not the 1000 as now obsolete hardware) the new 3000 firmware has been completley re-written, it doesnt just update whats already there like most patches/updates, this totally wipes and starts again from scratch

theyve done it for this series, so theres no reason i can see why the others couldnt follow

thread is closed(a****).

but new discussion on the subject started.

:FRIGHT:

So have you managed to crack NDS yet then, digidude? :proud:
When can we expect sly to be open on TM's, I've been patiently waiting since you started this thread. At this rate i'll have to take out a sub with them in the near future (ie never).

no m8 lol

but i have managed to make a 3500 into a proper PVR (ish, only one tuner) with internally mounted hard drive, front socket still active for updating, and it still has sly support, only downside (for now) is that the sly card still needs updating in an official box :(, but this is being looked into with urgency ;)

Hi there just to let you know that if you need any testing done. I have a new patched 3300 and a sky card just FTV mind you.

hi m8

the thing with the sly card being updated in this box is being looked into, there is a new 3300 patch released tonight, that may have the new code in it, ill not know untill i phone tomorrow to find out whats new (apart from the porn lol). im hoping SSSP has been added this time as well

SSSP = Simple Serial Sharing Protocol. In short the patched cam emulation is able to look for smartcard keys via a serial port rather than just from a softcam.
When you add Windows Sharing Pack (WSP) to a PC you are able to provide a 'server' ability for your box to request keys, and a valid card can then give correct keys to more than 1 receiver.

So a patched firmware can have this sssp key method included in the same way a patched firmware can look for keys in a stored softcam file, but if this sssp method is removed/disabled within the patch then it will not look for keys via serial.

Thanks pinkhelmets

That was a very clear explanation of SSSP. I have always wondered what it meant.

Cheers M8
