CD & DVD VCD to AVI

is it possible to convert VCD to AVI. if so where can i get the software and is it easy to do or lots of messing about.

Davidh thanks mate but is it possible to convert to avi its just thet avi seem to be better compression so the files are smaller or will i have to convert them from mpeg to avi

thanks all for helping me out with this. i have finally found a DVD to AVI convertor. (have yet to try it out)

thanks again all and once i get this dvd ripping stuff sorted i will be posting a list of all my dvds and will be ripping on request <img src="smile.gif" border="0">
