Unbricking a dead M2

I have a dead M2 that I want to try and unbrick.

I have a null modem cable and have downloaded TM Loader for TM1000-5000-6000 version 1.8.8 but what now?

Is there a step-by-step guide to do this?

Any help would be appreciated.

Okay now I have realised that the RS232 cable will not fit my PC, can I use a serial to USB adaptor?

You can if you can find one that emulates the Port correctly as a lot of these USB ones dont work as they should

I needed a serial port recently, and after a lot of un-successful faffing around with one of those adapters, I dug out an old laptop (with serial port) someone had 'donated' to my "too good to throw away" pile, and success! So, as Digi says, you might be lucky, you might not. Have an ask around- someone's bound to have an older pc or lapppy lying in a cupboard somewhere...
