Linked, i think Dilly was asking me, if you read where he quoted me he has enlarged the font on "christmas lights error" , on my xbox 1....which is why im happy that the 360 looks like i will be able to play back ups on so i may take the plunge.

@Dilly: No, its not chipped, i had the TSOP flashed, however, instead of flashing mine they swap it for one they had already flashed, its been fine for over 2 years now....someone mentioned that a soloution may be to get it chipped, but at the going rate it wouldnt be worth it unless i maybe do it myself, £50 i have been quoted for new mainboard and £60 for chipping...i can get new xbox including 2 games for £79 and then softmod it myself and swap the 80gb hdd from the broken one...but as i said to linked above, if the 360 has been done, albeit the hardway for now then i may as well get one of those.

once you have done the hack, and made the back up do you still need to have the 360 plugged into the computer or do you just put it all back together and use as normal?

once you have backed up your games and got SS with xtrm0800.bin reflash with xtreme.bin (make sure you dumped the key from your orginal firm and added it to the xtreme.bin)

then put back together and play away (but you must flash the drive with xtrm0800.bin to rip your backups and the flash back with xtreme.bin to play for now anyway

About autodection :
Iso dectection work fine with untouched image... So if you rip with wxripper, then apply Security Sector, iso type will be wrongly detected as xtreme....
To ensure that you already have the video partition, mount the iso file with deamon tools or alcohol. You should be able to play the video.

How to merge ss :
1 - Make sure you have .Net Framework 2 installed.
2 - Browse for the iso.
3 - Hit Detect.
4 - Make sure detected settings are right by looking at the selected layer break file. (Xbox Iso or Xbox 360 iso) (If the iso was made using the xtreme way, there no way to detect if its xbox or xbox 360 so you must specify it)
5 - Browse for the Security Sector file
6 - If its an original xbox iso, click the xbox button, it will set the ss offset and choose xbox layer break file.
7 - Hit Merge and Create Layer break file
8 - Burn the .dvd file that was created with cd/dvd.
9 - Give your feedback
10 - Donate via paypal to helldoc AT gmail D0t com so i can buy a 360 (no, i don't even have one... i sometime have access to one with an hitachi drive...)

How to use iso splitter:
1 - select your iso file (Must be a complete iso with video partition).
2 - hit xbox 360 or xbox depending on your iso.
3 - select what you want to extract (Extraction the game partion will create a xtreme type of iso)
4 - Hit split and wait.

The Hitachi was actually the first drive to get hacked by a guy named 'The Specialist' and a few other peeps. He chose not to release it into the wild due to it only being for 'piracy'.

We will have to 'hope' that Commodore4Eva cracks the Hitachi and releases that too for two reasons off the top of my head.

1) All backups will be 'xtreme' compatible across all 360's. So if your Toshiba Samsung drive 360 dies and you buy a new one that happens to have the Hitachi drive in it, you won't have to backup all your collection again.

2) This point concentrates on the 'hope' part. As currently the only firmwares to my knowledge that Commodore4Eva has worked on, including the XBOX 1, have been the TS drive's.

Personally I can't see it being to much of a problem for him as all firmwares must be pretty similar. But I can't say for sure as never even dissasembled a firmware file before...

The only problem I can see is if M$ catch up with him and: spank :him :FRIGHT:

What is this tool?
This Graphical tool allows patching your XBOX and XBOX 360 Game Images with your own Security Sector file at the right addess, making the full process easier, fast and error free. This app is for those who wants to create a game image to play with the Commodore4eva hacked firmware (for xbox 1 or for 360)


There are other important features of the app like:
a) Image Browser, you can view the file structure, copy structure to clipboard, extract and replace files into the game image (dont replace an important file or you will burn a coaster)
b) Browser supports XBOX and XBOX 360 raw dumps, XBOX and XBOX 360 Quix ISO’s. (some newer releases from warez groups are not supported because they are releasing in wrong format: Nero ISO)
c) Trim your Raw Images (XBOX and XBOX 360) eliminating the unused extra space from the image, lowering your burn time.
d) Create a XBOX/XBOX 360 Raw Image joining video + game partition
e) Patch your keys onto hacked firmware
f) Retrieve Security Sector from original XBOX/XBOX 360 games (read full document)
g) Mini DVD-Info Pro, this option combines basic functionality from CloneCD and DVD-Info pro, enough for our purposes so you don’t have to switch from one app to another.
h) Create layout files (.lft) for WXRipper, so you can rip your XBOX 360 games in minutes and without the need of calculating any “magic number”.

Remarks:
- This app has only been tested in Windows XP
- Read this document in full
- If you are using the app and don’t understand some field, re-read the document or leave the default value
- This app does not contain any copyrighted code from M$, you must supply your own game images and your own security sectors to make it works.
- I am not using source code from anybody, maybe I just put all the ideas on one tool
- No warranties from any kind
