It is known as a CV12, they are used widely is Asia by "commercial pirates" running cardservers.

I was hoping it could be re-programmed to work as a general purpose standalone client but the firmware / software is very hard to find.

I have some more links if you are interested but I would use an ethernet season or Dreambox DM500-T instead.

I was reading around the forums and lost the thread.
There is a card you can connect between the dreambox (com port) and insert into a dragon cam. What is it called ?

That sounds like a bog-standard serial "Season interface"

You can build one for £5 or they're £10 on E_Bay.

There are some USB season's on there for £10 but they are no good for the Dreambox.

I have a Terratec Cinergy XS hybrid DVB-T tv tuner, i pick up many top up tv channels but of coruse they are encrypted, was owndering if I could use card sharong with the device as its a small usb stick?
