Well didn't make it home again so parked above one of our Main customer sites , early morning trailor pickup, call in depot to fuel up and off to Birmingham for an early delivery, maybe end up at Trowbridge again Thursday night ,but things change so wait and see.
today start Trowbridge trailor swap back to here in kearsley ,trailor swap then a Birmingham del and back here.13 1/4 hour day..9 hour 42 minutes drive (max is 10) and 625 kilometres driven. nice an steady day.

Can I ask you a question @gez?. You obviously love your driving hence your fantastic thread I on the other hand have grown more and more against driving due to idiots on the road. One ten minute drive for me and I am dodging cyclist ,motorcyclist idiots tailgating and of course drivers cutting you up. My question is in all that driving you do how do you keep calm? I could probably get in an argument everyday if I let it get to me.

Well im no angel myself so with you on that.
What you have to realise is the truck can weigh upto 44 ton, so if you get anyone with it that's hurts them bad. not many people realise how much room we need to manover even at roundabouts and turning. the other thing is the gap I leave is my braking distance I need to stop. you fill that gap by nipping in and you now become my brakes.
you have to just let it go sometimes, blast horn, shout or hand gestures otherwise you end up killing someone for a stupid fault they made.s one people make the mistake the blame you but the worst are those who cut in front and then brake test you, who in their right mind would risk you being quick on the brakes before you hit them hard.
switch off, let it go most times but now and then have dragged someone outta of their car and truck "to have a quiet word"

I was watching (inside the factory) last night it was about bikes, and the woman presenter jumped into tractor unit and was driving around a coarse it was about bike lanes I never new a lorry had so many blind spots, she pulled up at a junction and was told turn left when road was clear, just before she pulled off the instructor told her to jump out and check there was 10 people on bike which you could see from cab, when she jumped back in she was all set to drive away and there was 3 in front of truck you just could see them at all. they was taking about the new law about those extra mirrors but foreign drivers don't have that law yet.
I have 6 mirrors and still got blind spots, it's so easy to miss a cyclist or pedestrian who just walks close to cab front.car drivers and cyclists should have t spend a day in a proper working hgv not one that's set up.
