I havn't got S*Y Digital and don't know much about it but what I gather is this :
1. You program what PPV you want to watch to the STB via the remote and watch it.
2. It gets stored on your 'viewing card'.
4. You plug your internet bit in and the box uploads your PPVs to S*Y.
5. You get charged.
Maybe there is a way to convince the STB that it is connected to the S*Y server (I believe people are calling this the reset trick )?
'Null exchange' telephone test boxes are available (Simulate dial tones Etc.) but undoubtedly there are handshakes and verifications between server and STB that need to be correct for the viewing card to be erased (and you to be theoretically charged), so can we find a way to simulate this server-STB conversation ?
