Hi

This issue is happening on my Dreambox but I thought I might pop it in here as its a neutrino image and therefore same as dbox2:

Prob is I have bought a 2nd drive (named H) to use as a media storage drive.
I can stream files from this to the dreambox no probs but
I cannot get the dreambox to record to this drive!!!

"The recording directory is not writable, recording will not work"

I could record/playback fine from the C drive.

Even though I have all the settings changed to point to the 2nd drive, is there something in the image (UK04) that defaults recordings to C drive??

Neill

richt click the drive
sharing
then tick allow users to change files

should sort it.

I have done that....

2nd drive will stream files to dbox no probs at all.
it just will not record to it.

Strange how it will work fine for C drive...

Everything has been setup on 2nd drive exactly how it is on C:

bothe drives ar NTFS and mount is setup as per PT-1s guide.

Fine on C:
not on H:

Do you have the NFS permissions set to read/write on the H drive and a different share name to the C drive

I have it set up using CIFS. Do you recomend using NFS??

When I try to set the folders as read/write it appears that windows(xp pro) wont allow this....seems to stay with 'read only' box ticked.

Very strange that it works fine on the C: partition??

Cheers for all the sugesstions so far

you have to goto movie players settings
then change directory to h:/ to record on your other drive
yes c: will work because the setting is on c:/
