Wenger: Unperturbed

- Resurgent Reds stun champions

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger reacted defiantly to his side's humbling at Manchester United.

Wenger declared that the ***le is 'still ours to win' after seeing his side go down 2-0 at Old Trafford.

Their proud record of scoring in every match also fell as they ended goalless for the first time in 55 league matches.

And although he admitted his players had lacked enough hunger, desire or aggression, Wenger is refusing to panic.

But he admitted: "We have been given a good warning as to how much the other teams to beat us. The ***le race is now open again for Manchester United.

"We knew that before but the reality is there after this game, although it will not only be them, it will be Liverpool and maybe Chelsea as well. However, it is our ***le still to win as we are still in front and it depends on us."

Wenger was aggrieved at an apparent handball by Ruud van Nistelrooy in the build-up to United's opening goal, but there was no disputing the astute assist from Paul Scholes or the storming run and finish by Veron.

Wenger insisted: "There is no debate, it was a definite handball by van Nistelrooy.

"That was the turning-point as it had a huge influence on the game. Manchester United were hungry and, in their heads, they were the outsiders. It was like a cup tie for them.

"The first goal reinforced that at***ude and got the crowd behind them. But we cannot complain as they were more aggressive, wanted it more and won more 50-50 balls. We were not at our best and they defended very well."

told you he was a comedian Mickie!!
