I have kingston 16gb a samsung 500gb passport 500gb all working fine.
Usb can be bought everywhere, ebuyer is cheap.

Unlike the TM6900HD Super (and presumably the 6902 as well) there are two USBs - one at back one at front, but on the M2 TM5402HD there is only ONE USB - which is at the rear mate!
On the new M3 however, there are also two USB's (I hope lol!!) - front and rear!

you are correct holmroad , there are 2 usb on the m3 one is at the back and the other is at the front behind the flap for card and cam slot
