Is this for Astra 2? I believe there's a work-around- I've never tried it but IIRC it involves adding (manually) the 11778 EPG stream as a TV channel, EPG populates from that.

You can have to wait up to 3 mins to allow EPG to populate normally mate, or as stated above you can also use the EPG 'channel' which works much more quickly!
Some patches seem to work better than others too, but you don't say which one you are on?
