Hi,

I'm up and running with regard to .avi files, as all you need to do is convert them into MPEG2 files to allow them to stream.

Anybody know how to watch Xvid videos - do you need to convert them to MPEG2 or can you just watch them as is?

any help appreciated.

Install VLC Player on your PC http://www.videolan.org/vlc/download-windows.html

make a .txt file on your desktop and inside it put this

Code:
You don't have permission to view the code content. Log in or register now.

then rename it from whatever.txt to whatever.bat

Now just drag the .avi onto it and if alls well it should convert it to a .ts file (mpg) that you can play on your DB :)

if you get stuck just shout

Or dubdubdub.doom9.org is a useful place for Graphic converters.

I've been using Allok AVI MPEG Converter to convert the .avi to the .mpeg2

found out after checking that it will change Xvid also to mpeg2.

however finding alot of pixellation & jerkiness after converting files.

I had converted other files from .avi to .mpeg2 perfectly.

anyone know if any particular setting on conversion tools that I may have changed could be leading to the problems I;m experiencing?
